Tā Ch’ilā Provincial Park (Boya Lake), Cassiar Hwy, BC

With many islands and lovely bays, Tā Ch’ilā Provincial Park is an excellent place for canoeing or kayaking. The lake is noted for its colour and extreme clarity. The bottom is composed of marl, a mixture of silt and shell fragments. The crystal clear waters and aqua-marine lake colour are a result of the light reflecting from the marl bottom. Boya Lake is also one of the few lakes in the North that is warm enough for swimming. The provincial park lies within the traditional territory of the Kaska Dene First Nation who still hunt and trap in the area.
